Prescription Drug Drop Box

In July of 2016, Sergeant Bianco came up with the idea to acquire an "Outdoor Pharmaceutical Disposal Kiosk" to be mounted in front of the Police Department.

He noticed that our agency at the time would use a garbage can that couldn't seal shut and was held closed with bungee cords which were kept in the lobby during events. He quickly realized that the system of collection was inadequate, outdated, and not secure. Typically, when the can was emptied, it was completely removed from our premises, making unscheduled deposits of medication impractical for our staff and the public.

He reached out to the St Helena Rotary who graciously donated the funds to purchase the receptacle and Jodie's Design who donated the time and materials to place the logos on the outside of the container.

Thanks to those who participated, our local drop box has collected over 609 pounds in the last 6 years.
